Language and literature
In the past few classes, we read several sample diary entries and decoded and analysed the language used. Then, we wrote two diary entries on the given topics by assuming different roles. We also had a session on how we should we express our tone through choice of words after which we analyzed the mood it created. We took feedback on this task and have now maintained a journal on how this character would feel as the days progress. We also we revised the concept of STEAL and internal monologue.

We have been exploring the unit of Statistics where we learnt to organize and analyze data in our real-life scenario. To further our understanding our mentor guided us to find different kinds of data from the daily newspaper. We then found the central tendency after ordering the data and chose the best tendency which best described the data. It was a fun and interesting activity! We are now working on our FA3 project where we have worked in groups to identify a real-life problem related to environment. We collected data through surveys and are now collating results to analyze and suggest solutions! It was a wonderful learning experience.
Chemistry- In these past few classes, we have learnt about properties of ionic compounds like, NaCl, MgO etc with scientific reason to why it happens. To summarize ionic bonding, we all made mind maps in our notebook to collate everything we learnt about.
We started with another type of bonding, covalent bonding. We discussed and diagrammatically represented the three types of bonds, single, double, and triple bonds. We challenged ourselves by drawing diagrams for compounds like water, carbon dioxide, ammonia and methane.

Physics- In the past couple of weeks, we completed a formative assessment on simple machines. The formative assessment required us to research on an assigned simple machine in groups and present our findings. Post the completion of the formative, Ms. Priscilla talked about the various simple machines herself. We also played the Hot seat activity, wherein a simple machine was secretly chosen by a group and had to be guessed by a person from another group in under six questions! We enjoyed playing that activity. In the last class, we created various compound machines using Mechanix, which was really fun.

For example, in France, the festival of Poisson d’ Avril which is April Fool Day, the people celebrate it by sticking paper fishes on other people’s back as a prank but in other countries like India, we verbally fool other people or we play pranks on them. We even learned the reason behind the festival being celebrated. Today, on the 3rd of March we played a quiz to enhance or vocabulary and revised all our past work.

In our current unit we utilized our time in doing a group task, in which we did, our group was given a festive from- id, diwali, holi, christmas. they were supposed to take any one these topic and draw + write a short description and present it in the class. this way the students build up a wide knowledge of different festivals. then they were supposed to write a short story on some given topic and present it in the class. then they learnt about the forms of [kaal, ling, vachan] and give examples. over all the had a wide understanding of the above topics. We also had Samvaad lekhan and dialog writing practice in class. We also had our Formative assessment of Criteria cd written based on Paragraph writing and dialog writing.

We are following a flipped classroom approach for the ongoing formative assessment in music. For this assessment, we were required to pick an African instrument and conduct research on its origin, purpose, appearance, sound, etc. Then we were asked to present our research findings in the class and resolve any queries that our peers had. To test if they understood the findings, we also had to ask them any three questions based on the information given out in the presentation. We are able to enhance our research and presentation skills, and stimulate transfer of knowledge through this assessment.
In the unit Creative Perspective Drawing experimented with one-point perspective and two points perspective drawing. Based on our learning we are applying three points perspective in 3D architecture modelling. Using newspapers, cardboard etc we are creating different historical architecture. We are now in the process of installing all the art works on one platform.
We continued with our unit in Cricket. We identified the different ways how a batsman can get out in cricket match. We also discussed how we can develop good batting technique by focusing on the grip, stance and footwork. We did batting at the nets to refine the batting technique.
